Before starting home foundation repair work, a hydrostatic pressure test of the sewer / drain line under the slab should be performed by a licensed plumber. This will determine whether there are any existing leaks in the sewer drain lines. Homeowners insurance may reimburse the homeowner for the cost of accessing sewer lines in order to repair them. And if it is determined that leaks in the sewer lines caused the foundation problem, your homeowners insurance may reimburse some or all the cost of home foundation repair. This test should be done before foundation repairs are begun; if the test is not performed, coverage may not be effective.
